?" Our Darkest Legal, is darker in appearance than most other 35% due to the quality of film we use.In most Australian States automotive window films must maintain 35% Visible Light Transmittance once applied to the vehicle. Always ask when considering a particular film, "

Yes. Always consult a Professional, Film can be safely removed using the correct tools and techniques without damaging the glass in any way.

48hrs is the standard amount of time required for the film to bond sufficiently with the glass and allow you to safely wind down your windows. You may still notice small amounts of water behind the film at this time, and this may take up to 21 days to dissipate completely. If unsure, please contact for advice.

Yes, you need to take care but it's generally common sense. While not quite as hard as glass, our films are extremely scratch-resistant and may be cleaned with some common household cleaners, non-abrasive paper towels, or cotton cleaning cloths. What type of "look" can I choose from?
Home window tinting comes in a varity of different looks ranging from frosted, clear security film, bronze to the more common dark (black/dark grey) films.

If you have a look in mind or a photo of the desired look, we may be able to assist with a customised design to suit your particular needs, to match the decor or style of your home. Ask for details

What are the Top 4 reasons to tint a home?

 Reject Heat
  • Heat passes readily through glass – approximately 50% of a home’s utility bills are wasted by loss of heat and heat gain through untreated glass.

  • Save Energy
    • You'll see energy savings of up to 30% as tinting your home keeps it cooler in the summer (reducing airconditioning costs) and keeps the heat in in the winter (reducing heating costs).
    Reduce Glare
    • Stop Straining your eyes!! Solar Sun film can reduce the glare by up to 94%.
    Gain Privacy
    • In your bedroom, bathroom + throughout the home
Why do I need window film?
Decrease Heat - Today's window film is extremely efficient at controlling the effects of solar energy. Window Tintingcan provide up to 81% heat reduction when applied to untreated glass.
Reduce Fading - Window Film blocks up to 99% of harmful UV rays. This reduction combined with solar heat and glare reductions helps to protect your valuable interior furnishings from fading.
Cut Glare - Whatever the cause - direct sunlight, or reflections from buildings, water or surrounding windows - there is a perfect window film solution to help reduce annoying glare.
Enjoy Energy Savings - Areas of extreme sun or shade can cause interior temperature imbalances and climate control issues. Window film can remedy this problem and significantly reduce air conditioning costs.
Increase Safety - Acts of vandalism, environmental hazard's and unforeseen accidents can cause glass to shatter and become very dangerous. Window Film, and specifically Safety Film, can act as a "safety net" by holding shattered glass together.
Enhance Appearance - Whether it's a contemporary look or a uniform design, there are a variety of window film products that can aesthetically complement the appearance of a home or office building.
It's Fast and Easy - Professional window film installation is quick and simple. There's minimal disruption to your daily lifestyle or work schedule.

Will window film reduce my utility bill?
The more windows there are in your home or building, the greater the benefits of installing window tinting. That is because window film does much more than simply control heat gain or loss; it also improves the safety, security, energy efficiency, and appearance of your building - all at a fraction of the cost of installing special glass.
Unlike drapes and blinds, window film rejects up to 81% of the heat that would otherwise come through the window. That can translate into a savings of about one ton of air conditioning for every 9 square meters of glass exposed to sunlight.
Window Tinting block out 98% - 99.9% of UV light, thus protecting you from the sun's harmful rays and significantly reducing fabric and furniture fade. They also reduce glare to improve your indoor visibility, especially with respect to computer monitors and televisions.

    Will my energy costs decrease?
Yes. The amount of money saved depends upon the type of window film chosen and certain property-specific variables (location, climate, existing energy costs, etc). After obtaining some basic energy unit costs for a given building, we can conduct an Energy Audit to estimate the annual dollars saved by different film types - such a saving is generally known as a ‘Pay Back Period'

Will window films stop all interior fading?
No. Window Tinting will not completely eliminate fading from occurring.  Depending on the type of window film that is applied, tinting your windows can reduce fading by up to 90%. It's important to note there are multiple causes for fading - UV rays, solar heat and visible light and window film can combat all of these threats.

Does security film prevent the glass from breaking?
No. However Security film does an excellent job at holding broken glass together but it cannot prevent the window from breaking if it comes in contact with severe force (e.g, baseball bat blow).

What is window film made of?
Different polyesters are transformed during the manufacturing process to produce a thin, transparent window film that adheres to glass when a pressure sensitive or dry adhesive is activated by a mild solution of dishwashing detergent and water.

Do you install window film on the inside or outside of the glass?
Window Film is typically installed on the interior side of a window. As it is a finished product, is best installed after all other nearby construction is complete. If access to the interior side of the window is difficult to obtain, an exterior application can be performed.

What is the procedure to install window film?
The individual installation steps, assuming a typical interior application, are as follows:
    • Prepare window area by moving nearby furniture and ensuring fair and reasonable access to the glass
    • Thoroughly clean interior side of glass pane and gaskets with a mild solution of dishwashing detergent and water to remove dirt and other residue
    • Wet glass with solution
    • Place film against glass
    • Squeegee to remove excess solution between glass and film
    • Trim film to gasket (rubber or timber glazing bead)
    • Re-squeegee film edges to ensure film lies flat
    • Wipe film to ensure clean finished product
    • Replace furniture to original positions
Can you apply window film to Acrylic (plastic) sheet?
Not recommended. The film's specially designed adhesive is not designed to adhere to Acrylic however it can in some instances - no warranty

Can you apply window film to tinted / Low-E glass?
Yes. You will notice enhanced energy performance from your tinted / Low-E glass windows after installation.

What is the life expectancy of window film?
The life expectancy of window film is dependent upon multiple variables (climate, exposure to sun, etc). The average life expectancy is ten years and beyond; and, many customers have had window film on their windows for over twenty years.

Will my furniture fade be reduced?
Yes. Furniture / fabric fade is caused by multiple factors. 10% of fading is caused by miscellaneous factors (i.e. fabric color, material, etc). 25% is caused by heat. 25% is caused by visible light. And the remaining 40% is caused by UV rays.Window Tinting can mitigate 90% of the factors that cause furniture / fabric fade giving a performance up to 83% reduction depending on film selection

How do I clean the filmed surface after installation?
Window films may be washed with common washing solutions (no ammonia-based products) thirty days after installation. Abrasive cleaning agents and bristle brushes which would scratch the film can not be used. Synthetic sponges, squeegees, or soft cloths are recommended in addition to the cleaning solution. To maintain your warranty, do not use tape or other adhesive products on the film.

    Our Article

After being medically discharged from the Army after serving 5 years, Truman begun work in the Automotive business as a Tray Fitter. It was by chance that a friend, who was a window tinter, taught him all there was about window tinter. He started working at a dealership tinting windows and soon moved on to shop supervisor. He had always dreamt of one day owning his own mobile window tinting business.

His partner, Lisa, came along with an admin and financial background which enabled them to give it a go. She now controls the admin side of things as well as donating to children's charity auctions, advertising and marketing. Truman is the owner and installer.

Having worked in the industry before, Truman and Lisa realised just how ruthless and dishonest some people are. So they started their own businessTruBluTint because they wanted to be able to supply the same quality of film and a lower cost using honest techniques.
