1. Stop and wait 48 hours
Its a great feature to ahve window tinting on your vehicle, home or office, however dont be too excited to use or touch the windows within the first 48 hours because this is the time required for th window film to set to the glass. By opening a car window or touching the window film on an office window could shift the positioning of the film so its best to leave the window alone in the first 48 hours.
2. Don't use abrasive products to clean the film with
Cleaning and looking after your window tint film is important but when doing so make sure you don't use any abrasive materials such as scouring pads, even some sponges can be too abrasive for certain window films. The best applicating material is a damp chamois as its soft and lubricated.
Remember window film has some scratch resistance properties but it will obviously scratch more easily than glass so keep that in mind when coming in contact with it.
3. Don't use ammonia based cleaning products
When cleaning the window film ensure that you don't use any ammonia based products such as Windex Spray & Wipe. Almost every tint service provider sells window cleaners that are safe for the window film, it's not a bad idea to invest in something like this as they are great cleaners. However as as alternative you can use a damp chamois to wipe the window film first and then a microfibre towel to dry it after with a streak free finish.
The reason use can use ammonia based products is because it breaks down the window film and therefore reduces the life of the film.
